Eligibility for AMIE Exam
Applicants with a 3-year Diploma in Polytechnic or its equivalent in any other branch of engineering may apply for AMIE. There is no restriction of marks for admission.
Candidates who have completed 10+2/PDC/HSC in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects and a minimum of 45% marks can also appear for the test.
Candidates with academic qualifications equivalent to the aforementioned courses can also apply for AMIE.
Section A - Non-Diploma IEI technician members are only eligible for 6 years based on the date of enrolment. Section A – Diploma IEI senior technician members are only eligible for 6 years based on the date of enrolment. Section B IEI senior technician and technician members who have completed Section A in a respective scheme or have exempted from Section A are eligible for six years of completing Section A. IEI corporate members in any discipline who have not completed section B examination or Graduate in Engineering is eligible for six years from the date of registration of Section B examination.

AMIE Section A & B Exam Scheme AMIE 2023 Summer exams shall be conducted from March 16 2024 to March 22 2024. Exam timings 10 AM to 1 PM 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM
AMIE Exam Counseling
Once a candidate is shortlisted based on performance, he/she has to follow the counseling procedure for college allotment. Counseling is generally scheduled from the first week of April (summer batch) and October (winter batch). When a candidate is called for counseling, he/she must carry the following documents:
Attested photocopies of mark sheets
10th and 12th-grade certificates
Original mark sheets of 10th and 12th grade for verification purposes
5 colored passport-sized photographs

Where should I send the AMIE exam form?

How much is the AMIE exam fee?
The exam fee is Rs. 3000. You have to make a Demand Draft (DD) in favor of “The Institution of Engineers (INDIA)”, payable at Kolkata. The overseas exam fee is $225 only, payable by DD.
Can I change the AMIE exam center?
Candidates should select their examination centre within the state/local centre jurisdiction respectively. However, in exceptional circumstances, candidates may be permitted to appear from a center other than the local/state jurisdiction centers. In that case, candidates must enclose the examination forms with satisfactory evidence of the requirement to change the centre. No application for examination centre change shall be entertained after the last date of submitting application forms
When is the AMIE result declared?
AMIE result is declared in the fourth week of March (for summer batch) and September (winter batch). Candidates dissatisfied with their results may apply for AMIE answer script inspection. However, no rechecking or reevaluation will be done.
What is the difference between AMIE and B.Tech?
AMIE holds the same value as B.Tech. The only difference lies in the mode of study. While candidates can study B.Tech by regular means only, AMIE can be pursued as distance education. It offers a great opportunity for students.
How will I receive my AMIE Admit Card?
AMIE admit card is available online for download. Candidates can log in to the official website and download their admit card. They must preserve the hard copy for future reference. Candidates must furnish the admit card and Membership card at the exam center.
