How many bundles of shingles do I need for 1500 square feet?

Calculating the required shingles is quite easy if the house is flat but if the house has a pitched roof then calculating the requirement is a bit complicated. The basic requirement of shingle for a 100 sq ft roof surface area is approximately around 3 bundles of 3-tab shingles. The three bundles of shingles consist of 29 standard-sized shingles whose measures are 12 inches by 36 inches. To find out the requirement of shingles for a 1500 sq ft house first determine the shed footprint which should also include the overhangs. A 1500 sq ft house will have 15 squares all of which will require 3 bundles so the approximate requirement comes around 57 bundles of shingles for 1500 sq ft.
