Cottage Arts Emporium

FRAUD! I had ordered a specific hand-knotted carpet through Mr. Malik at his Brigade Road location (Indian Arts and Crafts), and was instead shipped a machine-woven carpet from Cottage Arts Emporium (which I assume is his other store). I brought the carpet back to Bangalore, from Boston, and Mr. Malik refused to offer a refund despite being shown clear photographic evidence from our email correspondence showing the differences between the carpet I ordered and the one shipped. Moreover, Cottage Arts Emporium had the audacity to write on its shipping label "100% pure silk, hand-knotted carpet" for a carpet that even an idiot can see is machine woven, and not silk. Though I had officially dealt with the Brigade Road store, this shows that Cottage Arts Emporium is an active participant in fraud. Do not trust this store. They stock substandard / fake items, and are very willing to perpetuate fraud against their customers.
