Timeless Wrought Iron furniture
History of Wrought Iron
Wrought Iron has a history that dates back almost ten centuries. The term “Wrought Iron” literally means that which is “crafted” or “made” out of iron.
In olden days wrought iron was used mainly for architectural purposes; as bars to tie masonry domes or arches, or as pillars for support. Later, its uses evolved for purposes of ornamentation as well in the form of railings, grills & even furniture.
However, for various reasons including ease of manufacture, today wrought iron has been replaced by mild steel (M.S). The design aspect of such furniture has also adopted more modern styles that nudge shoulders with the evergreen original styles that even now find takers, relying heavily on excessive but elegant ornamentation.

Wall Art
Using iron furniture to furnish a small apartment is a good option as it is easy on the eye as well as the pocket. However, generally speaking, one may also opt to furnish only certain niche areas with metal furniture; for example, by using a wrought iron cot in a girl’s room or as a marble topped mantel in the home entryway.

For the outdoors, powder coated / painted metal benches, garden gazebos & swings ( finished with weather-proof paint) are useful decorative accessories that will uplift the space to another level in a perfect fusion of form & function. A gazebo may be fitted in one corner a terrace or garden and liberally surrounded with creepers & foliage to create a green haven.
