The duty of the IES officers will depend on their engineering expertise and the service or cadre in which they are recruited. So, obviously, the IES officers have a pivotal role to play in the development of the country.
What is the IES exam pattern?
The aspirant’s technical knowledge is tested to the core in this examination. The officers are selected through a three-level competitive examination, which is known as Engineering Services Examination conducted by the UPSC. Level – 1(Prelims)
- General Studies and Engineering Aptitude. The questions in this section will be of objective type.
- Specific paper on the engineering discipline concerned. Objective type questions.
Level – 2(Mains)
- Engineering discipline – paper 1
- Engineering discipline – paper 2
Level – 3(Interview Test)
- Personality test. Here the interview board will judge the acumen of the job aspirant.
