Self isolation, social distancing or just WFH, it's all new for most of us. Stay calm and occupied and we shall get over this pandemic soon. Just remember we’re all in this together. However, let’s face the reality, we are all so clueless and bored with so much time in hand and very little to do. They say it takes 21 days of consistent efforts and practise to form a new habit. So, let's use this time productively and try to become a better version of ourselves. Also, here’s a head start to help you “Quarantine and chill’ the right way”.

  1. With the covid-19 spreading so fast, it is very natural to get anxious and panicky. Beat those blues by staying active indoors. Try and workout at least for 45 mins. Dance your heart out, stretch, meditate, cross fit, the choice is yours. Get that endorphin rush to get you started.
  2. Pick up where you left. Embrace your hobbies again. Do more of what makes you happy. It can be painting, singing, embroidery, blogging, dancing, whatever you like. This is the time to experiment and get better at it.
  3. Try your hand at home gardening. Make do with some simple kitchen ingredients like mustard seeds, tomato seeds, green chilly seeds, mint leaves, etc. Recycle your old containers and one can get the soil outside their house.
  4. Explore and learn. Read all those books sitting on your shelf for a while now. Don't like reading? Listen to self help podcasts. Overcome your excuses as one must never stop learning.
  5. Enroll yourself in various online courses of your choice. There are many institutions and applications that offer online education courses for a wide range of specialisations.
  6. Make the most of this time and spend quality time with your loved ones. Facetime your friends, call your grandparents everyday. Feed your soul with love by constantly staying in touch with your near ones.
  7. Evaluate yourself. Your strengths and weaknesses. The things you want to improve, achieve and the actions required to compliment the same. Use this time to align to your personal and professional goals.
  8. Don't miss on entertainment. Netflix your heart out. Catch up on your favorite shows and movies.
  9. Declutter and deep clean your house. Not just because you are bored. Do it as it is the need of the hour. Take that effort to keep your house hygienic and yourself occupied.
  10. Lastly, practise gratitude. Kindness is free. Offer help to your neighbours but maintain the distance. Don't forget to look after the four legged buddies outside your house. Offer them food and water whenever possible.
