Rajendra Bhatia's Design Studio, the most prominent name in Design Entrance preparation in Central India, acts a gateway for leading institutes of various verticals of Design - Interior, Fashion, Architecture, Animation and Applied Arts. Rajendra Sir, as children lovingly call him, is a 61 years old gentleman who holds a Master of Arts in Drawing and Painting with a dissertation on the topic ‘Rock Shelter Paintings’. He has been a practising Artist (painter and sculptor), an Art-Teacher and a faculty of Design in his private capacity. He is also a visiting faculty at different colleges and Institutes such as DAVV (Indore University) Indore, IEPT Indore, INIFD Indore, Gujrati Girls College Indore, for the past 18 years. He has been taking lectures on different subjects such as Rendering Design, Perspective, Different Medium uses, Human figures and Croquis, History of Art and Architecture, History of Fashion. Mr Rajendra Bhatia, born on June 15, 1955, is the youngest child among six brothers and two sisters to his teacher parents. He showed an inclination towards arts and paintings right from his childhood. He inherited art from his mother and maternal grandfather. In 1973, Rajendra Sir graduated in Science and then worked as a marketing professional for twenty-three years. Art, however, always lived in him. Occasionally, he used to paint and gift out his works till he took to painting as a profession in 1997. After making his hobby into a business, he decided to hone his skills and did his MA in Drawing and Painting in 2003-2004. Rajendra Sir is initially an artist of watercolours. He keeps trying different mediums and styles to bring about effective paintings. He has matured as an Artist and his works with “Impasto-paint” and “Oil on Paper” are commendable. OOPS, Oil On Paper School is a unique technique developed by him. He wishes to get this concept registered and is also writing a book on this idea. Rajendra Sir has conducted many workshops at different places. His talk and workshop on “Tertiary Color”, “OOPS”, and “Impasto-ism” are new and innovative concepts. One of the biggest achievements by Mr Rajendra was when he visited Cyprus as an invitee-artist to participate in a 12-day festival of Indian Art and Culture in March 2008. He made a portrait of Mr Tassos Papadopoulos, the Ex-President of Cyprus and gifted to him during this visit. The president highly appreciated the painting. It has become a valuable possession for his family as the Ex-President died in December of 2008. Mr Bhatia, in these years of his Art Career, has done more than 14 Solo Exhibitions. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions and art shows and displays. Known for his loving and subtle nature, he is always surrounded by his students.
