Recording studios are facilities which are primarily used for sound recording and mixing. Without these studios, the music we listen to on a daily basis through our phones or iPod wouldn't have been possible. Among the millions of studios across the would, these 4 changed the face of the audio industry and played a vital role in the evolution of music.

1. Abbey Road Studios, England

Abbey Road Studios is a recording studio which is located in northwestern London suburb and was established by the Gramophone Company in the year of 1931. This recording studio was closely associated with the legendary band The Beatles and are known for recording most of their albums here. Other bands like Pink Floyd and Radiohead used this studio for recording a few of their albums too. Abbey Road was also popular among several film score composers. OSTs for the Star Wars Franchise and Lord of the Rings Trilogy were among the popular scores recorded here.

2. Trident Studios, England

The trident studios is another popular recording facility which was located in London between 1968 and 1981. The trident studios was responsible for recording the first four studio albums of the band Queen. Some of the other notable works in the trident studio are the recording of Hey Jude by Beatles and David Bowie’s The rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust. Bee Gees, Rolling Stones, Thin Lizzy are among the other artists who used the studio for recording their material. Trident Studios were also known as the first to use Dolby noise reduction.

3. Sunset Sound Recorders, USA

Sunset Sound Recorders is a recording facility located in the heart of Hollywood. It was originally built to record music for Walt Disney movies but eventually went on to record some of the greatest rock and roll classics. Sunset Sound Recorders have produced over 200 gold records which includes albums from greats like The Rolling Stones, Guns N Roses, The Doors, Elton John and Led Zeppelin.

4. The Electric Lady Studios, USA

The electric lady studio is a recording facility located in New York and was built by the legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix himself. The studio has helped produce material for several notable artists like Led Zeppelin, John Lennon, U2, Carlos Santana and Stevie Wonder. When this studio was constructed, it was the only artist owned studio.
