Sri Chithrarupa, a multifaceted revolutionary training institution laid its foundation the field of arts & crafts on 14th April 1999 with the motive of training students in jewellery making, embroidery, tailoring, saree designing art zardhoni work etc., More than 2500 students from all over the world including Australia, Dubai, USA, Singapore, Srilanka etc., have been training through this institution. It was the first to introduce jewellery making courses in Tamilnadu in 2007. Till now numerous workshops have been conducted in Trichy, Salem, Kovai, Pondicherry and Hosur etc.,   Thamarai Selvi, the director of Sri Chitrarupa, is the key behind this remunerable institution. She started her career as an ordinary housewife, with an extreme passion for painting created wonderful master pieces and she could not continue it for a long time she developed interest towards kundan jewellery with the result. She learnt the art from North India. When she came to know more women showing interest in learning fashion jewellery, she started taking classes which are well attended and most of her students are from her own neighborhood.
