Fertility drugs are given for stimulation of the follicles in the ovaries thereby producing multiple eggs in a cycle. The treatment helps control the time that the eggs are released as well as ovulation and the sexual intercourse. A fresh semen sample that is not more than 30 minutes old and after a gap of sexual restraint of 3 to 5 days is needed and the necessary analysis is done in the laboratory to analyze the semen.
