10 Things You Need To Hear If You Are Trying To Lose Weight!

If you are thinking of shedding those extra kilos, here’s some advice, a few tips and hacks, and a lot of motivation from somebody who understands the difficulty level of the journey!

1. Don’t ignore all your cravings

Self control is absolutely necessary to start and stay on a diet. But don’t test it by avoiding all your cravings. If you do so, your temptations might hit the peak and you will end up binge eating. While you resist most of your cravings, make sure you satisfy some of them. This can act as your body’s fuel and the cheat meal will keep your diet going.

2. The recipe for weight loss differs from person to person

If you’re wondering why your friend lost weight faster than you, it’s probably because his/her body and metabolism is very different from yours. Some take longer than the others. What works for one might not work for another. Trial and error is the only way to find out what your body will and will not accept. But just remember that this isn’t an equivalent of a setback.

3. Don’t cheat too much

Many of us allot one day of the week for the consumption of more calories than planned and call it the “cheat day”. Aptly named, you get 24 hours to cheat the plan and over-consume. In all likelihood, you will take advantage of it. Also, people find it unbelievably difficult to get back to their diet after a cheat day. A better alternative would be regular cheat meals throughout the week. Systematic indulgence in limited quantities, instead of granting an entire day for it, will make it easier to bounce back to the diet and is, also, a great way to keep a tab on the extras consumed.

4. Exercise is necessary

Dieting alone will not suffice. Exercise at least 4-5 times a week. You can formulate a timetable based on your calorie consumption. While doing so, don’t make the mistake of creating a schedule that requires more energy than what your body can produce while on a diet.

5. The entire process will take a long time!

After a week, you will notice no change. After a month, you will notice a change so small that you will feel like it isn’t worth it. But have faith! Weight loss is often a long journey and results take time to show. Understand how slow the process can be but also, how worthy it would be when you achieve your goal.

6. Don’t check your weight everyday!

Nothing will demotivate you as much as a daily visit to the ever-unfriendly weighing machine! Check your weight once in two weeks. This will help you gauge your progress better.

7. Don’t wallow in self pity

This is quite common for anybody on a diet. When you look around and find people eating heartily, it might be quiet difficult to remember why you took up this painful endeavor in the first place. At times like these, look at the before and after pictures of your role models. It could be anybody; a friend, an acquaintance or somebody you chanced upon on Instagram.

8. Don’t give up!

Easier said than done, right? But seriously, understand and prepare yourself for the bad days. Some days you might give in to the temptation. Some days you might order salad at a fancy restaurant while your friends order fries and steak. Some days your diet might depress you. Some days you will eat ice cream on your way home. Some days you will have no motivation to hit the gym. Some days you will find no progress. But all these hurdles are absolutely normal on the path of weight reduction. Your schedule will never go exactly as planned. Hindrances appear but the key to weight loss is not giving up when they do.

9. Losing weight won’t solve all your problems

People might have told you that all your health issues stem from you being overweight. Sometimes, even you probably feel like you will be happier and all your emotional worries would magically disappear if you were thinner. But it’s absolutely not true.

10. Don’t do it for the haters

“You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world and there’s still going to be somebody who hates peaches” You could become anything; fat, thin, skinny, chubby or toned and someone will still have a problem with it. You don’t owe it to anybody. If weight reduction has been your goal, then pursue it. Don’t do it because people throw negative statements at you. Body shaming, regardless of your shape and size, will always be prevalent.

However, remember that its hard to tell fact from fiction on the internet . But you don't have to do this alone. Take the help of Weight Loss Consultants and lose weight the right way! Lastly, no matter how much you weigh, remember to love yourself. Good luck!
