The Department of Mining Engineering is a part of College of Technology and Engineering, Udaipur. It has made huge contributions in the fields of teaching and research and works closely with the industry through its research and consultancy cell. Its specific research areas are mining, geo-technical investigations, geology, safety management and environmental management. Being situated in the heart of mining activities, students get very good practical exposure, along with theoretical knowledge.

Infrastructure

The department has a world class campus equipped with following facilities:

  • Laboratories with basic and modern machinery. The various laboratories are environmental, mine planning & computing, rock mechanics and dimensional stone, mining geology and survey laboratory.
  • Classroom with advanced teaching aids such as OHP, LCD and computers.
  • Library with a large number of text and reference books.
  • LAN and Internet facility along with modern tools and softwares.
  • Fully furnished computer lab

Placement

There is an Information and Placement Bureau (IPB) which invites MNCs/corporates for annual placement. Major recruiters are Ambuja Cement, Eicher Tractors, HCL Technologies, Hexaware Technologies, J K Tyres, Infosys, John Deere, L&T Infotech, Reliance Petro Chemicals, TCS, Uttam Galva Steels, Wolkem Industries and Ashok Leyland among others.

Eligibility

  • For B. TechCandidate should have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and a minimum 60% aggregate.
  • For M. TechCandidate should have done B. E/B. Tech in a related discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50%.

Selection Criteria

  • For B. TechAdmission is given on the basis of marks obtained in RPET (for state-level seats) and AIEEE (for all-India seats).
  • For M. TechAdmission is based on the GATE score.

Entrance Exams

For B. Tech

  • Rajasthan Pre Engineering Test (RPET), conducted by Government of Rajasthan
  • 12.5% seats through AIEEE conducted by CBSE

For M. Tech - GATE
