Petroleum Engineering at the Indian School of Mines University (ISM), Dhanbad
The Indian School of Mines University (ISM) was established in 1960 to impart education in the fields of mining and geology. It has now diversified into other technical subjects as well. It is an institute of international acclaim and has links with other reputed universities and a strong alumni network across the globe.
Infrastructure
The ISM campus is serene, consisting of academic buildings, student hostels and healthcare facilities, with excellent OPD facilities. There are various students activity centers and clubs. Fests include SRIJAN (an annual technical-cum-cultural management fest), SPARX (an annual technology fest) and CALCIO (all-India inter college football tournament).

Eligibility
For the B. Tech and Dual Degree programs, candidates should have passed Class 12 or equivalent with a minimum of 50%, and Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as major subjects. For M. Tech candidates should have passed B. E/B. Tech with at least 50%.
Selection Criteria
Admission is made on the basis of scores in the IITJEE for B. Tech and Dual Degree and GATE for M. Tech.
Placement
The training and placement cell looks after the annual placement and training requirements of the institute. Various national and international companies visit the campus for recruitment. Some of them are ACB Ltd., Accenture, Ashok Leyland, Arcelor Mittal, Ambuja Cement, BASF, Baker Hughes, Berger Paints, Halliburton, Cairn Energy, CSC India, Data Code, Cisco, Coal India and Jindal Steel.
