Dr. Brajendra Baser completed his residency training in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery from the Prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. After finishing his residency training, he moved to Mumbai where he completed a fellowship in Head and Neck oncology at the Tata Memorial Hospital. Subsequently, he joined the T.N.Medical College & B.Y.L. Nair Hospital as a Lecturer. He completed a fellowship in Facial Plastic surgery from the Department of the Plastic surgery University of Gothenburg, Sweden in 1987. In 1991 he was appointed as the Associate professor at the Seth G.S.Medical College and K.E.M. Hospital Mumbai. In 1998 he moved to his hometown in Indore where currently he is director of the Akash Hospital &the ENT & Facial Plastic Surgery Centre. He is the Professor & Chief of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgery at the Shri Aurobindo Medical College, Indore and the Director of Akash Super speciality Hospital, Indore. He has popularised Rhinoplasty in India and has trained several young surgeons in the Art & Science of Rhinoplasty. He is conducting training courses for ENT/Plastic surgeons and Maxillofacial surgeons Since 2000, and over 1500 ENT, Plastic surgery and Maxillofacial doctors have from all over the world have attended his courses on Rhinoplasty. The Association of Otolaryngologists of India gave him the prestigious Dr. R.A.F. Cooper Gold Medal & Award for his work on Nasal Tip Surgery in 1992. He is also the recipient of the Ranbaxy Award of the Rhinology Society of India.He was given the USA green-card under the category ‘extraordinary ability’ a rare accomplishment for a medical doctor, but he chose to come back from the USA. He was invited to be the guest editor of the Indian Journal of Otolaryngology in 2004. He published 2nd Edition of his book Aesthetic and Functional Rhinoplasty in 2005, which is read in over 20 countries. The third edition of his book on Rhinoplasty was released in June 2014 by the Honourable Chief Minister of MP. Mr Shivrajsingji Chauhan, Three editions in 20 years speaks to the popularity of the book. The book is read in over 20 countries. He has written several research papers on Rhinoplasty in various national and International Journals and has contributed chapters to several books on Rhinoplasty. He is the founder secretary of the Indian Society of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive surgery & current national president of the society. He is the member of the Board of Director of the PAN Asia Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive surgery and is currently In charge of India.He was the organising Chairman of the 3rd International Rhinoplasty and facial plastic surgery conference held in Mumbai Feb 2013. He is organising Chairperson of the Indian society of facial plastic and Reconstructive surgery, being held in Pattaya, Thailand in September 2014. His areas of particular interest apart from Rhinoplasty are Endoscopic Skull Base surgery & Endoscopic sinus surgery and Thyroid surgery, and Laser surgery for Larynx.
