The palace is on 2 floors and the lavish interiors and galleries in general depict the life style of the ruling Wodeyar family during the Raj. The artefacts are an eclectic mix and in one room there are indian paintings, religious paintings as well as prints of european artists. The family photographs on display throw an interesting insight into life during those times (hunting, family traditions, ceremonies etc) and I particularly liked the display of photos taken during Dussehara (a religious festival held in October). One of the palace courtyards houses furniture gifted by the Spanish king and resembles an andalusian plaza. The extensive gardens are well maintained and I gather this venue is used for weddings, concerts and as a film set. Very clean, comfortable western washrooms on site.
