The palace is on 2 floors and the lavish interiors and galleries in general depict the life style of the ruling Wodeyar family during the Raj. The artefacts are an eclectic mix and in one room there are indian paintings, religious paintings as well as prints of european artists. The family photographs on display throw an interesting insight into life during those times (hunting, family traditions, ceremonies etc) and I particularly liked the display of photos taken during Dussehara (a religious festival held in October).One of the palace courtyards houses furniture gifted by the Spanish king and resembles an andalusian plaza.The extensive gardens are well maintained and I gather this venue is used for weddings, concerts and as a film set. Very clean, comfortable western washrooms on site.

Bangalore Palace- Nestling in the heart of the city the famous Bangalore Palace captures a unique charm. It is amongst the most charming tourist places in Bangalore. Extended over an are of 45000sq.ft, this edifice is a masterpiece more then 110 year old, holding the glory of erstwhile rulers. The palace was constructed in 1880 and coasted more then 1 million Rs. The beautiful garden girdled the palace almost giving it a fairytale setting, worth a visit site.
