Koothu-P-Pattarai is a prominent Tamil theatre group that has organised plays for 31 years. The group has its base in Chennai, Tamil Nadu in South India. out speech training in a theatre speech laboratory and conducts workshops teaching "elements of traditional theatre art forms" as well as presenting lectures in educational institutions in order to raise awareness about folk theatre's significance to modern theatre. The style of theatre has been described in The Hindu newspaper as "an intense physicality coupled with powerful ideas", and was described by India9.com as being "native folk arts in a contemporary style". The director for this group, Na Muthuswamy, is the recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award from the Government of India. We, Koothu-P-Pattarai (KPP), are a contemporary Tamil theatre group founded in 1977 by Sangeet Natak Academi winner and playwright Mr N Muthuswamy. We provide our actors with training in acting, folk dance, martial arts, yoga and music. Our theatre language incorporates elements of dance, folk theatre, improvisation using mime, music and martial arts creatively so that space, movement and choreography become as important to the action as literary content or dialogue.

Chennai Theatre Academy was founded by people with extensive experience in theatre and acting and by people trained in universities and in the nation’s premier acting schools. We believe that acting can be learnt technically. Learning the intricacies of acting and its guidelines , getting to know the types of acting and learning them is essential for all those who seek to participate as an actor either in cinema or in theatre .
