The Melody Academy is one of the earliest established music academies in South India.It was a gathering of elite musicians. Saraswati Music College was established in 1924 at Lahore by its founding Principal, Late Shri Bansilal Kapoor, a disciple of the veteran musician, Late Pandit Maniram ji of Mewati Gharana.
