Shri George, who is the member of Lions Club International, for the past 18 years, hails from Burma. He is in the field of music for the past 35 years. He is specialized in singing Mohammed Rafi Songs and started his singing carrier in late K. Veeramani's Orchestra, who is the pioneer singer of Ayyappan Songs. Later, shri George has the opportunity to join in Shanker Ganesh (Music Director) Orchestra during earlier 70's and he became very popular singer in the public with the Songs Yadhon Ki Bharath, (Churaliya Hai Thumnay Jo Dilko), Wada Karlay Saajna (Hath Ki Safai). Particularly the song, Yadhon Ki Bharath along with Shri S.P. Balasubramaniam (Originally sung by Mohammed Rafi and Kishore Kumar), he use to receive a lot of applause. When he sings the song wada Karlay Saajna from the Hindi Movie (Hath Ki Safai) in Shanker Ganesh Orchestra Shri S.P.B use to enjoy the song and appreciated a good number of times. The greatest opportunity and blessing shri George received was, when he sang in Mohammed Rafi's programme at Chennai, during 1978. He sang suhani rath dhalchuki from (Dulhari) and Badan pay sithraay lapay tay huway from (Prince). The function took place at Madras University Auditorium, Where Janab Mohammed Rafi Conferred the title of South India Mohammed Rafi to Shri George. Later, He started his own orchestra in 1978 in the name of George "Melozana" and so for conducted more than 4000 shows at Chennai and throughout India. Every July 31st being the death day of Mohd Rafi, Shri George conducts Musical Evening by name "TRIBUTE TO MOHAMMED RAFI" at Chennai in which leading playback singers such as Shri K.J. Yesudass, Shri S.P. Balasubramaniyam, Shri P. Jayachandran participated.
