Label the boxes according to the room Label boxes with fragile items carefully

Labeling boxes is an important part of relocation. When your packing boxes are labeled right, it makes it much easier for the packers and movers to place boxes in the appropriate rooms while unloading. The right box labels can significantly ease up the task of unpacking. Moreover, by correctly labeling the boxes with fragile items, the packers and movers will know which boxes to treat with extra care.

Tips for Labeling Packing Boxes

    1. Keep enough permanent markers, box labels, and tape handy, so that you don’t run out of any labeling material.
    1. Always label the top and the sides of the packing boxes.
    1. Label the packing boxes according to the room. This way, the packers and movers will know which room to place the boxes in after unloading at your new home.
    1. Number your boxes. This will help you keep track of how many boxes there are. Moreover, keep a list where you note down all the items packed inside each numbered box. This way you will know which box to unpack for each item.
    1. Clearly label boxes with fragile items as ‘Fragile’ or ‘Handle with Care.’ Preferably, label this in another color so that it stands out. Also mark which is up, so as to avoid it being placed upside down during transit.
    1. If you do not want the packers and movers to carry a certain box in their truck, carefully box label it as ‘Do not move.’
    1. If you want a certain box to be loaded last and unloaded first, label the box as ‘Move Last.’
    1. While taping, make sure you use durable tape, as often box labels that are taped come off during transit.

Labeling can help prevent a lot of confusion and make packing and unpacking an extremely easy process. Happy moving!
