HJS exam structure
The HJS examination is conducted in three successive stages – Preliminary exam, Mains and Interview / Viva-Voce. Preliminary examination: This is the first examination that serves as a qualifying criteria for Mains. It consists of objective type questions. The percentage of the qualifying marks varies with every state. For General category students, the minimum qualifying percentage is 60 percent and for reserved category candidates, it is 55 percent. Mains examination: This exam consists of subjective type questions and there are three to four papers. The marks obtained in this are counted for final selection. Interview / Viva-Voce: This is the final stage where the candidates are assessed on the basis of their personality, general interest and intelligence.
