YMCA International, based in Kilpauk, Chennai, is part of YMCA Madras. The National Council of YMCA’s was formed in Madras to co-ordinate the activities of the association all over the country. This again was the brainchild of Mr Mc Conaughy. In 1908, A home for Christian students was opened on Jones Street, and by 1911 there were two more hostels in Chintadripet, Vepery and Royapettah. The Dessin Academy was founded in Chennai as an Institute of Fine Arts in 2004. Begun more than 12 years ago with just four students, the Dessin Academy has today evolved into an institution catering to more than 2000 students spread over 50 branches all over India. The Dessin Academy is an institute that nurtures young artists, gives wings to their boundless imagination and seeks to motivate them in the field of art and design. The Dessin Academy is run under the able guidance of its Founder/Director Mr R. Rajendran MFA and a core group of dedicated faculty members who embrace diverse styles and working methods. In a reflection of the various age groups of its students (who range from 3-year-olds to 60-year youths), our institute offers a wide spectrum of courses. These are (i) Fundamental Course Level-1 & 2 (ii) Intermediate Course Level 1 & 2 and (iii) Advanced Course. Our students have participated in several state and national level competitions and, more often than not, have walked away with the highest honours. The institute conducts an exhibition of its students works every year, with a maximum of 36 students participating, each of whom presents six paintings. Chennai Sports Academy opened its doors to students in January 2006 at the Sir M. Venkatasubba Rao Matriculation School, T.Nagar. To begin with the Academy had eight students - 3 children in football, 5 in yoga. Gradually, these eight students help spread the wings of the Academy with their discipline, attitude and consistent winning performances. Word spread among the parents of the host school about the Academy's systematic coaching and skilled training - which was on ample display one Sports Day. Encouraged by enthusiastic enquirers, the academy introduced In 2007 August, the academy introduced badminton, table tennis, chess, and roller skating. Each discipline is headed by a professional coach who imparts disciplined training to all students. We are conducting summer camp in Football, Basketball, Fitness, Yoga, Army Adventure, Gymnastics, Dance, Archery, Swimmimg, Rifle Shooting & Summer camp, we will do pick up and drop also
