Cement-based paints: Cement-based paints are water-based paints where the cement is the main base. It is used for exterior wall surfaces for preventing the water penetration and reduction of dirt collection.

Enamel paint: These are oil-based paints having a considerably glossy finish. They comprise of zinc white, white lead, resinous matter, and petroleum spirit. Enamel paints have a hard strong finish and are very durable.

Distemper paint: These are water-based paints. The main constituents of this distemper are lime, water, and some coloring pigments if required.

Luminous paints: A paint that glows in the dark as it contains a substance which emits light for a length of time after exposure to any energy source. The different types of luminous paints include fluorescent paint, phosphorescent paint, and radioactive paint.

Metallic paint: A paint which comprises of metals like aluminium, copper, bronze and stainless steel which give a metallic appearance to the film. Such paints are mostly used for painting the metallic surface.

Rubber paint: Rubber paints are emulsion paints having chlorinated rubber as its binder or some non-volatile vehicle. This paint can withstand water and many other tough conditions. This paint is used for boats, swimming pools, etc.
