GRE Exam Eligibility Criteria

GRE or the Graduate Record Examination is one of the most common assessment programs for admissions into graduation courses abroad. Students who are planning to pursue graduation or higher studies abroad can undertake the GRE exam. ETS prescribes no age limit or specific qualification for the candidates who wish to attempt GRE 2020. However, it is essential that the candidates are expected to have completed their undergraduate courses before taking the GRE test as it is primarily the assessment exam for admission to various graduate courses. Candidates should also note that not all top colleges or universities require the GRE score for a graduate program admission. It is entirely at the discretion of the particular college or university that requires students to have undertaken the GRE exam.

The results of the general studies have specified that the candidates of the 17-19 years are the ones who appears in the GRE exam. The United States of America, Singapore, Canada, Australia, The United Kingdom, etc. are the countries that accept the GRE score. Here are some key aspects of the GRE eligibility.

Majority of the students today undertake the GRE test as it is the standardized exam that helps them get their admission for graduate courses and most universities accept the GRE test score. The GRE exam is conducted by ETS all over the year by giving the liberty to students to choose their exam date as per their availability and convenience.

GRE Subject Test Type

Candidates can take the GRE Subject Test for graduation in the specialized courses. The GRE Subject Test is conducted by ETS to assess the students’ knowledge in the particular subject or field. Unlike The GRE General Test, the Subject Test is conducted only on a fixed date for all candidates who prefer to take this exam. It is available for the following subjects: Literature (English), Biology, Math, Biochemistry (Cell & Molecular Biology), Physics, Chemistry and Psychology.

American B-Schools also accept GRE scores for admission into MBA courses besides the GMAT scores.

Sending GRE Scores to Colleges

The fee candidates pay for GRE also includes sending their GRE scores to colleges or universities they prefer, but not exceeding four colleges. Students who have taken the GRE Test online and opted for the test results through online will be asked to choose the score receivers at the exam center. In the case when students opt for the paper-delivered test and result, then they would be asked to choose between the four score receiving colleges at the time of registration on their admission ticket. If a college, which is preferred by a student, is not listed on the admission ticket, then he/she can request the administrator at the exam center for the other unlisted institutions list. After the end of the exam, students can ask for Additional Score Reports for the cost of US $ 27 per university/college.
