IIT JEE Syllabus
The following are part of the chemistry, physics and mathematics syllabus: Chemistry: Organic compounds containing nitrogen/oxygen/hydrogen, states of matter, hydrocarbon, surface chemistry, equilibrium, basic concepts of organic chemistry, d, f, s, and p-block elements, chemical bonding and molecular structure, chemical thermodynamics, chemistry in everyday life, biomolecules, electrochemistry, atomic structure, polymers, etc. Mathematics: Integrals, 3D geometry, vector algebra, straight lines, sets relations, conic relations, probability, trigonometry, quadratic equations, permutation and combination, complex numbers, circles, binomial theorem, differential equation, statistics, mathematics induction and reasoning, etc. Physics: Kinematics, thermodynamics, electrostatics, work energy and power, electronic devices, properties of solids and liquids, laws of motion, magnetic effects of current and magnetism, kinetic theory of gases, dual nature of matter, radiation and gravitation, alternating current, etc.
IIT-JEE examination pattern
This is basically split into Main and Advanced, with the Main comprising paper I and II, and Advanced also comprises of two papers in offline mode. If you want to pursue a B.E, B.Tech or any other UG program, then you will have to appear for paper I, which will include questions from physics, chemistry and mathematics. The questions will be objective type, with equal weightage given to these three subjects. If you are looking to pursue a B.Arch or B.Planning course, then you will have to take paper II, which includes a mathematics test, an aptitude test and a drawing test. These will also be objective-type questions. The duration of this exam is three hours.
