Essae Group of companies, headquarterd in Bengaluru, started its operations in the year 1965. The company entered into an Indo-Japanese joint venture with Teraoka Seiko Co. Ltd., Japan in April 1986. Essae- Teraoka pioneers in making Electronic Weighing Systems, POS Systems and Self-service KIOSKS in India, Asia- Pacific regions and the United States. The production units are located in Bengaluru, Puducherry, Goa and marketing units are pan India across 47 branches with 350+ resellers. The sales of this fast growing group in 2008-09 was INR 1678 million (US $ 34 million). The Essae family has expanded to 2000 people in various units and the company operates in diversified areas from Electronic Weighing Systems to Truck Scales.
