The Indian Institutions of Engineers (IIE) is one of the oldest professional institutions in India established in 1958 to promote, advance and update knowledge of engineering professionals. Among the activities it conducts biannual examinations known as Technician Engineers Part-I & Part-II, Section A & Section B of Associate Membership (also known as Chartered Engineers) Examination in Engineering. On successful completion of the Technician Membership examination the students would be eligible for the award of the Technician Engineer (DIPIIE) which can be suffixed to the names. Likewise, on successful completion of the (by the Senior Technician Members) Associate level examination, the students would be eligible for the award of the Associate Member of IIE (AMIIE) which can be suffixed to the names. IIE also endeavors to provide the best possible training and guidance to enable the students aspiring to pursue a career in the Engineering Industry and excel themselves in the field. IIE also encourages Institutes, Institutions, individuals, Industries and the Organizations including Government, Non Government and Private to become the Member of IIE so as to reinforce the strength and interests of the automotive fraternity in different forum including the Government. The Institution is thus helping thousands of younger members of community working in engineering to obtain engineering qualification & also to advance their technical knowledge & enhance their engineering career but, who have been unfortunate in securing admission in regular Polytechnics and Engineering Colleges due to no fault of their through non formal system of education.
