It has been named after an eminent freedom fighter Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar Bhramarabar Ray Mohapatra of Odisha. It came into existence on 15th January 1974 with a modest beginning of 25 students and one teacher. It has scaled a greater height in its 37 years of journey and is adjudged as one of the premier Senior Secondary Schools of the city. It is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.

Bjb English Medium School in Bhubaneshwar This Bjb English Medium School in Bhubaneshwar I met the class teacher after the first test and the tips she gave made a change. Now he himself explains the concepts to me. Also she takes care in basic hygiene, encourage them to bring healthy food etc.I appreciate the teacher for the effort she made to make the math exhibition a wonderful one
