Camarena was founded in 2009 and is promoted by Capital Photo Service Pvt. Ltd. with head office in Kolkata, West Bengal. Capital Photo Service Pvt. Ltd was founded in 1965 and is a pioneer in the photographic trade. This company now has 13 branch offices across the country with over 300 employees. Also, we as a distributor, have exclusive partnerships with Canon and Carestream. Carestream which handles consumer and health imaging products has been a partner since 1991. Camarena is the largest retail chain in India. It is a multi brand store and a one stop shop for photography with a goal to emerge as a guidance destination for all photo enthusiasts. Our products include compact digital cameras, SLRs, lenses, tripods, camera bags, backpacks, filters, lens hoods and all other camera accessories of international quality. Manfrotto, Hoya, National Geographic, Lowepro and Kata are few of the accessories brands that we work with. We have three types of retail outlets. One is a shop in shop format with presence in Spencers, Shoppers Stop, SPAR, Landmark & D’Mart, NEXT, Planet M, another being Camarena kiosks which are independent and present in big malls, and also individual stores. Our teams consist of well trained and knowledgeable people with expertise in photography. CAMARENA Super Store at E-Mall in Kolkata is a first of its kind concept store and a destination for anyone interested in buying Photographic Equipment. The 4500sq.ft. store boasts of the widest range of cameras and other photographic equipment and offers customers the unique opportunity to use the equipment under the guidance of trained staff to make an informed purchase. Talk about guidance and knowledge, and a 50 seater room within the store, fully equipped with modern presentation tools is ideal for conducting workshops and seminars. The room is also equipped to double up as a studio for any photographer who needs a space to carry out a photo-shoot. Apart from that, customers can make use of the lounge and browse through a selection of photography books in the library. The story does not end here, as one of the ultimate aims of every budding photographer is to have an exhibition of his work, and the CAMARENA Super Store offers customers a gallery to exhibit their photographs in large format. The gallery can accommodate up to 30 Photographs in large format and frames. The year 2011 had Camarena holding a photo contest which included renowned photographers like Raghu Rai, Umesh Gogna, & Late Prabuddha Dasgupta. It was done to encourage photography and give all interested a chance to showcase their talents in this field. The year 2012 had Camarena doing numerous basic & advanced photography workshops, landscape photography workshop, photo talk and working with renowned photographers like Raghu Rai, Umesh Gogna & Soumitra Dutta. 2013 will also see us doing many more similar events to encourage and promote the art of photography.
