Paramount photographers Trivandrum was started in the year 1950, Mr N. Velayudhan the man behind the studio business, started the venture with four employees. It was a time were Govt. Photographers get their jobs done at private studios through out kerala from the Public Relations Department due to lack of employees and manpower.However Mr.Velayudhan got several great opportunities to prove himself about his photographic ambience and talents. During this period every graduate from Kerala University was given the degree in an auspicious occasion with ceremonial dresses.Mr Velayudhan managed to get the entire list of the passed out degree holders and corresponded them with the offer of wood and gown (ceremonial dresses) etc, on rent against the deposit scheme.Later their deposits were converted to photo taking charges. Thereby taking photo of various fresh graduates and there by spread the Paramount Studios name throughout Kerala. Process continued for about 15 to 20 years by the time the name of Paramount started spreading throughout the entire nook and corner of Kerala.During the year 1969 V. Suresh (his second son) started coming to Studio whenever he was free from his studiesMr. Suresh has shown remarkable interest in photography and joined his father Velayudhan after his graduation. Suresh become a sole proprietor in the year 1984 as Mr. Velayudhan wanted a peaceful retired life.Mr. Suresh took up the challenge of taking the photography industry in to new levels were by giving a new face to the industry. His introduction range from Kodak Picture Maker, Noritsu 24 Pro (first of its kind in South India), Phase One P30+ Camera (31.6 Mega Pixels), Hasselblad 503 with a Phase One H20 Digital Back (16 Mega Pixels) and the list goes on.Suresh has devoted a great part of his life changing a simple studio in to a High Tech digital lab where any photographic needs, that can be thought about is catered to.
