Roy Chess Academy was founded in the year 2015 in one of the smart cities Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh) with the motto of bringing up and nurturing budding talent in the area of International Chess. The Academy was founded by Mr.Rajasekhar Reddy with the support of Mr.Leela Kumar, Mr.Prashanth Reddy and Mr.Srikanth Reddy, who also hail from Kakinada. In a short span of 3 years, Roy Chess Academy has earned the reputation of being one of the top rated Chess Academies in Kakinada and has emerged as a unique coaching institute, producing performers and champions in the field of chess, year after year. Looking at the overwhelming response received from the parents and students in Kakinada, Roy Chess Academy expanded into Hyderabad in the year 2017 and the first branch was set up in Kondapur, Hyderabad. The Academy which was inaugurated with a mere strength of 3 students, has growth to a strength of 40 plus students within this short span of time. Soon after, the third branch of Roy Chess Academy was opened in Anantpur, Telangana in the year 2019, followed by a second branch being opened in Kakinada. Besides the training centers where face to face coaching is offered, Roy Chess Academy also carries to its credit, various students who take classes online using electronic media. The student list includes students from the United States, United Kingdom, UAE and Australia. Roy Chess Academy has further plans of expansion and intends to penetrate into other areas of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to provide quality chess coaching across the twin states. Profile of the founder and co-founder About Mr.Rajasekhar Reddy Mr.Rajasekhar started learning chess in 2001 at the young age of 8 and quickly grew up to be a professional in the space representing Andhra Pradesh in the 34th Boys National Sub-Junior Chess Championship. He went on to represent Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada in the year 2014. He is a FIDE rated player with a peak rating of 1691. He started teaching Chess to students in 2011. A passionate, analytical teacher, he holds to his credit, the distinction of creating many International rated players in a short span of one year of coaching. He helped student Jayachandra, to become a Champion at the 3rd IS All India FIDE rating chess tournament held at Cuttack, Odisha in the year 2016. Another student of his, Ms.Sashya Singareddy stood in the 6th place in the 7th National School Games- (Under-7 Girls category) Chess Championship-2018. Mr.Rajasekhar is a B-Tech graduate by profession, but passionate about chess and decided to pursue his career in bringing talented students to the limelight. He has helped many students in honing their skills in chess and unearthing and polishing talents in this esteemed field. He has organized District and State level Chess tournaments through Roy Chess Academy. About Mr.Leelakumar Mr.Leela Kumar , passionate about Chess, started his teaching career in 2009 and went on to represent Aadikavi Nannaya University two times . He held a peak FIDE rating of 1435. A dedicated teacher and a task master, he holds to his credit, the reputation of having created many International rated players. The most precious feather on his cap is nurturing the talent and passion of Md. Imran, who turned out to be the All India Champion in below 1500 rating Chess tournament conducted in Hyderabad. Another student of his, KVK Sai Suhas, is another budding professional in the field, who grabbed the bronze medal in All India SGF Team Chess Championship. Passionate about chess from his childhood, he his continuing his journey of training students for many State level and National level tournaments.
