Mr Virendra Shah founded Scientific Diagnostic Centre (SDC) in 1988. Chain of events in Virendrabhai’s life led to the creation of SDC. In early 1988, Virendrabhai underwent a series of pathology tests in Ahmedabad and found concerning test results. Not convinced about the accuracy of tests, he went to Mumbai and got re-tested at the renowned Bombay Hospital. It turned out; his Ahmedabad lab reports were not accurate. This experience made Virendrabhai realise that lab-testing facilities in Ahmedabad were outdated and that we needed better Pathology Labs here. Pathology reports are the key to proper diagnosis and the very first step in providing quality health care. With this principle, Virendrabhai started the first ultra-modern pathology lab in Gujarat and named it Scientific Diagnostic Centre. Top quality equipment was imported from Germany in 1988. At the time, the Boehringer Mannheim Hitachi 704 was the first machine of its kind in Gujarat to conduct biochemistry tests. Even today, the lab’s mission remains the same: to provide accurate and reliable test results to patients in an affordable way. We continue to invest in the best equipment and technology to make sure our patients get the most accurate results. WHY SCIENTIFIC TESTING?
