The Behala-branch of George Telegraph Training Institute, which commenced operations in 1920, has been dedicated to the empowerment of youth through training in vocational trades. As a pioneer in the field, the Institute quickly gained a formidable reputation, and several authorities recognised its excellence in practice like the British Army, the Indian Defence Forces, Maritime Authorities and the British Railway Board. Its vast experience in vocational education has resulted in standardised syllabi and methodology that is structured and yet flexible enough to adapt to the changing needs of the industries.
