Shantiniketan Home, a renowned nursing home for senior citizens, is a unit of Bhiabav, a Public Welfare Trust formed by a group of like-minded people. Shantiniketan Home is housed in a building of 20 rooms at present, with lift facility. Each place is suitable for double occupation with two single beds. We can also provide single occupation rooms on demand. ROOMSThere are two types of rooms 1) Deluxe Rooms and 2) Standard rooms. All the rooms are well ventilated. The rooms have beautiful glass windows protected by iron grills covered with curtains. (Air-Conditioners in rooms on-demand). Bathrooms are furnished with 6’ high glazed tiles, shower, geyser, western style latrine. The rooms and toilets are kept neatly cleaned creating the right hygienic environment. FACILITIESAmong the furniture in rooms are bed (with mattress, bed sheet, pillow, blankets, etc.) bedside table, chair and almirah with mirror. The rooms are fitted with ceiling fans, lamps and calling bell. A shared lounge is available on every floor with dining arrangement, refrigerator and water purifier. Packaged drinking water is available on demand. RECREATION & OTHER FACILITIESMovies-on-demand, TV with cable connection, books, daily newspaper, internet, carrom, chess, cards, etc.Attendants / Nurses.Indoor / outdoor entertainments.Daily housekeeping.Linen service twice in a week.Daily trash pick-up FOODWe provide and pride ourselves in serving the most excellent breakfast, meals, fresh fruits and vegetables found in the market together with fresh non-vegetable items. To keep the inmates healthy and considering the age factor we provide them with tasty and nutritious food. A nutritionist is consulted who suggests nutritional requirements of residents. We have a fully equipped kitchen with full-time cooks. HEALTHDue importance is given to the medical check-up of the condition of the residents. A doctor attends to the health needs of inmates monthly. Specialized doctors are in the panel of the home. Since the house is close to many hospitals and private nursing homes of repute where emergencies can be treated, we avail of the services of many doctors who work there. We also have a tie-up with a nursing home for the supply of ambulance. All medicines and medical accessories that may be needed for treatment of the residents may be produced from that nursing home at short notice, e.g., Oxygen Cylinders, suction apparatus and intravenous sets are readily available. Visiting counsellor is also available. The tie-up with the hospital ensures that nurses are also available at times of need.
