Behala Shantinilay Welfare Society, a reputed NGO, has been engaged taking care of elderly people for over a decade now. Our mission is to create a space that our elderly residents could call home, where they could live a hassle free life under the care and supervision of our expert staff and management. Our commitment extends beyond merely providing a shelter to our residents. Our residents have at their disposal a well-stocked library, yoga classes, communication and entertainment facilities along with medical amenities and wholesome, nutritious food. Our aim is to ensure their days at Shantinilay are comfortable, engaged and fulfilling. Behala Shantinilay Welfare Society", a NGO registered under Govt of West Bengal, was born out of the philanthropic efforts of a few notable social activists, guided by a strong desire to create a safe haven for senior citizens who have no one to look after them. Shantinilay is more than a mere shelter for the elderly. It is a home in the true sense of the term since the residents here live as one big family. We take great care to make sure that our residents are given a sense of security, companionship and emotional stability, during their stay here. A caring and polite staff always ready to come to the assistance of our residents, a well-organised kitchen with professional cooks and attendants dedicated to take care of their mundane needs, together ensure that our residents are comfortable and well-attended. Besides, doctors and nutritionists are always available to take best care of our residents' health and welfare. Only health workers and nursing staff specially trained for elderly care are recruited. The residents are encouraged to socialise and lead an active life. They are encouraged to pursue their hobbies and keep themselves engages. Social events and fun activities are organised periodically, and the residents celebrate various festivals together, just like a family. People of various faiths live together at Shantinilay and everyone has the freedom to practice their religion.
